Dale W. Johnson

	Dale W. Johnson, 91, of Pinckneyville, went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2004 at 12:33 p.m. at Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Dale was born March 7, 1913 in Pinckneyville to George and Lucy (Jones) Johnson.  He married Margaret Reeder on May 16, 1936.  She preceded him in death on January 11, 1985 at the age of 66.  He married Lillie Demmi of Tampa, Fla. and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2001.
	He is survived by two sons, Ron and Terry Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Bob Pyatt of Pinckneyville; grandchildren, Merrit & Art Morris, Angie & Chris Winkler of Lancaster, S.C., Dale & Cathy Pyatt, Kay & Dale Winter, Robert & Nikki Pyatt of Pinckneyvillle; eight great-grandchildren; step-children, Richard & Josie Blandey, Steve & Judy Demmi, Marlene & Don Fuller, Shirley Zeigler of Tampa, Fla; eight step-grandchildren and many fond friends.
	Dale was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville and a UMWA member for 70 years.  He graduated from Pinckneyville Community High School in 1931, the first graduating class from the existing Pinckneyville High School.  In 1934, he went to work for the Pyramid Coal Mine until it closed.  He then transferred to Truax Trauer Burning Star Mine and retired from there.  He then relocated to Tampa. Fla.  He returned to Pinckneyville to live with his daughter and son-in-law for the past three years.  He was an avid reader of western novels and the Holy Bible.  He had a great love for music, his country, his family and mostly his Lord.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lyle & Guy Johnson and one sister, Lillie Manion.  A memorial service was held at the United Methodist Church of Pinckneyville on Thursday, April 29.  Friends called beginning at 6 p.m. with the service starting at 7 p.m. 
	In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or to Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville was in charge of arrangements.
